Sierra Vista Municipal Airport Master Plan Study
The Sierra Vista Municipal Airport (FHU) Master Plan Study is being undertaken to evaluate the airport's capabilities and role, to forecast future aviation demand, and to plan for the timely development of new or expanded facilities that may be required to fulfill that plan.
About Sierra Vista Municipal Airport
Sierra Vista Municipal Airport is one of only 21 joint-use airports in the United States, as it shares runways and taxiways with Libby Army Airfield. It can accommodate a full range of aircraft and supports both military and general aviation activities. The airport is a vibrant facility and important economic engine for Sierra Vista and the region.
Why Update the Plan?
The City of Sierra Vista has contracted with Coffman Associates, a national airport planning firm, to prepare an update to the airport’s Master Plan. Through coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Master Plan's aim is to properly plan for the timely development of the airport to ensure its continued viability from a functional, social, and environmental perspective.
